Selena M. Green, LM, CPM, CD
Director

Selena is a Licensed Midwife in the state of California with over twelve years prior experience as a labor assistant. Selena has attended births in the hospital, birth center and home settings throughout her career in labor and birth. She served as a Clinical Director for six years for a local woman's clinic and is active in the women's community in the Bay Area. She is certified in infant and adult CPR and is consistently growing her knowledge base by training with other experts in birth-related fields. Selena is also a licensed Level II Reiki practitioner.

Nariman Nasser, BS, CCRP, CD, CCBE
Chief Operating Officer

Nariman is a certified doula and childbirth educator with over 7 years of experience during which time she studied labor and delivery, the midwifery model of care, homeopathy, acupressure and herbal medicine for pregnancy and birth. She holds a BS in Microbiology and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Naturopathy and Holistic Nutrition. Nariman also manages clinical trials for diseases of the immune system.

Sarah Husain, MA, CMT
Apprentice Midwife

Sarah Husain is a mother, doula, and certified massage therapist. Inspired by her spiritual work with pregnant women, Sarah is pursuing her Masters degree in the Islamic Traditions of Birth and Motherhood.

Tomi Knutson
Body worker

Tomi Knutson has been providing birth and post-partum care to Bay Area families since 2003. Prior to becoming a Doula, Tomi worked in San Francisco as a public health worker and community organizer. She is also a Certified Bodyworker specializing in Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Pre/Post Natal Massage and is currently working towards her certification in Cranio-sacral therapy. She will be offering her healing touch at the Sacred Birth Place weekly.

Gionna Broussard
Apprentice Midwife

Gionna is currently a midwife apprentice/doula at Sacred Birth Place. She is working on her Bachelor of Science in Midwifery. From a young girl, she knew that midwifery was her calling. She spent a number of years attending college accomplishing general education. Her journey guided her to Sacred Birth Place. In December of 2007 she joined the team at Sacred Birth Place and has been blessed with the amazing opportunity to witness miracles in action ever since.

L. Samsarah Morgan, DD
Apprentice Midwife

Samsarah is an Interfaith Minister and Counselor, Apprentice Midwife, Family Life Coach and Hypnotherapist. She is also birth and postpartum caregiver and childbirth and parenting educator. As a doula she had attended over 800 births!

Samsarah is the mother of 5 grown sons and the grandmother of two, in is in this capacity she feels that she has received her greatest training. She has experienced through her role as mother, first hand experience of the joys and challenges of parenting!

Samsarah is the director of Nia Healing Center as well as Birth Professionals of the Bay Area and her private practice has offered counseling and healing sessions a well as workshops, seminars and retreats for individuals, couples, and families since 1995.

Haguerenesh (Hagi) Woldeyohannes, RN, BA, MPH
Apprentice Midwife

Haguerenesh Woldeyohannes has been working in the health field for over 7 years. Her mother studied midwifery before she immigrated to the United States and introduced Haguernesh to the art and profession of midwifery at a very young age. Haguerenesh has a BA in medical anthropology from UC Berkeley, a Master's in Public Health from Tulane, and nursing training from UCSF. She is also attuned as a Reiki II healer. Before joining the Sacred Birth community she worked in various states in the US, as well as select countries in Sub-Saharan Africa as public health professional and maternal-child health advocate.
